Triffid & Danger Concerts present two shows with The Edgar Winter Band in Sweden this fall, and we’re thrilled to open the show at Debaser Medis in Stockholm on Sunday, November 15th!
Winter made his debut in 1970 and has since released mega-sellers They Only Come Out At Night and Jasmine Nightdreams. In 1973, Edgar had a Billboard #1 with the million-selling instrumental classic Frankenstein. His latest album, Rebel Road, was released in 2008.
Sincere thanks to all involved for this past weekend’s two great shows at The Tivoli, Helsingborg and Backstage Rockbar, Trollhättan! A very special thanks to our special guest Conny Bloom, of course, Kattis for driving, Håkan and Bill (the Snibb family) for battery and air maraccas, to Black Belt for the backline and great show, Putte Rokk, Hasse and everyone at Tivoli, Fredrik and everyone at Backstage.
Thanks also to photographer Poul Martin Nielsen for the great photos, incl. the one above. Check out the rest at the PHOTOS page!
Next up: Stampen, Thursday the 22nd of October. We’ll be starting a bit earlier, around 20:00, playing two sets. It’s 50 SEK to get in, great food downstairs, then the party also continues for those who are in a heavy rock mood (it’s Heavy Thursday, after all).
We’ve done it a few times before: invited our friend and Strat wizard Conny Bloom as a guest to our gigs in and around Stockholm. Now it’s ready to take this combo on the road – let’s call it PS4 for short, the next-gen version of the band! Conny is going on tour with the Electric Boys in the UK and rest of Europe later in the fall, so we’re happy to find a weekend when we could all do this!
So, it’s The Tivoli in Helsingborg way down south on Friday the 2nd of October (along with the great Black Belt), and then westside, in Trollhättan at Backstage Rockbar on Saturday the 3rd of October.
We just finished a mini-tour with the great Southern Kings – playing Malmö, Halmstad and Höganäs as well as opening at Stampen in Stockholm yet again. Thanks to everyone involved, to Stacie and Al Collins and Micke Fässberg who jammed with us in Malmö, to Pierre and Jonas in Halmstad, all the people at Garage, Breakout and Folk å Rock, Håkan Bladh, and all the people who came to the shows!
Here are a bunch of nice photos from the Malmö show, courtesy of Lars Brundin!
Starting today, Pontus Snibb is once again taking his seat at the drums of Jason and the Scorchers for four UK dates:
22nd of July – Academy 3, Manchester, UK
23rd of July – The Greystones, Sheffield, UK
24th of July – The Musician, Leicester, UK
25th of July – Ramblin’ Man Fair, Maidstone, UK
Then Bonafide has a whole bunch of tour dates which you can check out here…
We’ll most likely also book a number of PS3 shows later in the year, probably including one or two more at Stampen, Stockholm. Stay tuned and have a good summer!
